Renee Explored No. 1 June 10, 2022www.flickr.com/explore/2022/06/10 You can view Golden Gate Bridge from every angle. The Battery Spencer is a great location to get a bird’s eye view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Formerly a defensive battery, this viewpoint is now abandoned. From 1897 until 1943, Battery Spencer was a cold, isolated, and vital military outpost protecting the Golden Gate. Just beyond the desolate buildings, Battery Spencer offers the best panorama view of this gorgeous bridge. Went very early in the dark in the morning, followed google map to make sure not turn wrong in every intersection. The first one arrived at the parking lot. You’d be surprised how many locals never drive out here. Checked online before going, it was said that the parking was extremely limited, if parking lot was full, you had to drive all around the big circle, and came back again to check if you are lucky or not to find a parking spot. I counted there were about 18 parking spots there. Such a nice and peaceful early morning, few cars passing the bridge, you would feel you own the whole region 😉. Nice to take the photos with harbor entrance, Pacific Ocean with the city of San Francisco Bay as a backdrop. Although the lights were strong, the stars were shown on the sky, which I thought they were dusks on my screen… Also captured the ferry passing by, but the long exposure smeared the ferry… It was cold in the early morning, I was comfortable wearing my winter jacket, otherwise very difficult staying for over two hours there. After sunrise photo, hiked a bit to the bridge, to feel how huge the bridge is… San Francesco is a place where you feel not safe. The sign at the hotel shows “Do not put any bags inside of the car”. Just be sure not to have anything visible in the car, as there were number of broken windows happened daily. Have a nice Friday and weekend my dear Flickr friends! :)) Canon EOS R5, EF24-70mm f/2.8L II USMISO100, f/11, 24mm, 30s Post navigation Love Shadow S u r r e a l i s m
