For the most part we don’t care about China, let alone its regime. However, if we do talk about it we think, first, how China changed in just about ten years from being the source of the crappiest counterfeit stuff to being the world class producer of high quality original stuff, the position previously held by Japan in the minds of commoners.
The second thing that comes to mind is that Chinese communist rulers turned out to be way smarter than the Russian communist rulers. This is the path that we could have followed. Instead we decided to destroy the old system. The results are pretty obvious. For the past thirty years both we and China have been starting from scratch, whereas we in Russia could have modernized the existing base and have a considerable head start.
So, good for the Chinese. Good work. Keep it up. That’s what we think.
